About the design and construction of the Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa was designed by the architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, based in Chicago, under the supervision of architect Adrian Smith, with the participation of structural engineer William Fraser Baker, and mimicking a local desert flower called the spider lily.
